COMMANDER’S SECOND RETURN AND FINAL DEPARTURE

It was a bright sunny day when Mano and Bernardita returned. I called Javier and someone helped him walk  to my house fast (remember he was blind). They told us about their visit to Medellin. His father worked in an advertising agency, but he was also a singer. He brought as a present a CD with his songs.

Bernardita confided that Mano’s mom was as crazy as him, buy she was charming. Mano had two children. One, the firstborn was in his twenties, and he lived with his grandparents. The youngest was a kid of about twelve who lived with his mother. Mano had had two relationships in Colombia. His mother asked Bernardita not to get pregnant. That was terrible for her because she adored children and wanted to have children of her own. Bur Mano’s mother had already two children to care for. Mano had a house of his own made with recycled objects.

Once here they resumed their activities. Bernardita made beautiful earrings and rings out of small beads. Mano would ride a bike. He had a big flag with five colored circles. It was white. It was the flag of Peace. He would ride his bike carrying the flag and people would wave.

Once there was a lecture by Sixto Paz, who writes books about encounters with extra- terrestrials. Mano attended. He made a great entrance carrying his flag and sat at the front row.
Mano was also a shaman and he would give advice to people and offer remedies. He had the help of his broom., the broom of NO-EGO.

He would attend the Meditation on Ribeyro Street. Charlie was a musician, who attended the Center. Mano made a flute for him. Mano had a flute on the upper handle of his broom of NO-EGO.
There was an event called Beija Flor in a small town near the border with Brazil. It was about World Peace and Love and Consciousness and Music. Mano and Bernardita wanted to go. They did not have much money, so they would go by bus.
During the last part of their stay in Lima they had grown apart, Bernardita had confided; love was gone but they were still traveling companions. One day they packed their belongings and said good bye. We would keep in touch through E-mails. We would miss them.

Beija Flor was taking place in a small town in Brazil called Alto Paradiso or High Paradise. They arrived one morning. As they were walking down the main street, Bernardita saw him. He was a fortyish veterinarian widower. She liked him and she liked her. It was love at first sight.

Soon she left the lodge and went on her own to look around. He approached her smiling. Soon they were chatting and drinking beer. He told her that he had a small farm in the outskirts of the town. He lived alone. His two grown children were studying at the University of Sao Paulo. Bernardita loved children. She was thirty-eight and was desperate to have children of her own. Paulo liked children. He had a place of his own where they could grow! Bernardita also owned a small farm in the outskirts of Santiago. After a few days she left Commander Broom, and moved in with Paulo, her new love.

Mano took it well and wished her luck. When Beija Flor meeting ended, he went South, to Florianopolis. He would live there for several years.

Bernardita had two children, a boy and a girl., and they lived happily with Paulo in Brazil. Sometimes she goes back to Chile to visit her father and grandmother.

Mano Electrica Azul or Commander Broom lives now on a farm out of Medellin, in El Carmen del Viboral. He rides a horse and plays the flute, He is a shaman and advises people with the help of his Broom!

SEGUNDO RETORNO DEL COMANDANTE ESCOBA 

Y PARTIDA FINAL

Era un lindo día de sol cuando Mano y Bernardita regresaron. Llamé a Javier y alguien lo ayudó a venir rápido a mi casa (era ciego, ¿ recuerdan?). Ellos nos contaron de su visita a Medellín. El padre de él trabajaba en una agencia publicitaria, pero también era cantante. Nos trajo de regalo un CD con sus canciones.

Bernardita nos confió que la mamá de Mano era tan loca como él, pero era encantadora. Mano tenía dos hijos. El mayor tenía unos veinte y vivía con los abuelos. El más joven era un chico de unos doce que vivía con su mamá. Mano había tenido dos relaciones en Colombia. Su mamá le pidió a Bernardita que no se embarazara. Eso era terrible para ella porque  adoraba a los niños y quería tener hijos propios. Pero la mamá de Mano tenía que cuidar de dos nietos. Mano tenía una casa hecha toda con elementos de reciclaje.
Una vez acá retomaron sus actividades. Bernardita hacía lindos aretes y anillos de pequeñas cuentas de colores. Mano montaba bicicleta .Tenía una gran bandera blanca con cinco círculos de colores. Era la bandera de la Paz. El montaba bicicleta llevando la bandera  y la gente lo saludaba.

Una vez hubo una conferencia de Sixto Paz, el que escribe libros sobre extraterrestres. Mano asistió. Hizo una dramática entrada cargando su bandera, y se sentó en primera fila.

Mano era también un chamán y aconsejaba a la gente y les daba remedios. Tenía la ayuda de su escoba, la escoba del No Ego.
Mano asistía a la meditación Budista en la calle Ribeyro. Charlie era un músico que asistía al Centro. Mano fabricó una flauta para él. Mano tenía una flauta en la parte superior del mango de la Escoba del No Ego.

Había un evento llamado Beija Flor en un pueblo en el Brasil, cruzando la frontera. Era sobre la Paz Mundial, la Consciencia Universal, Amor y Música. Mano y Bernardita querían ir. No tenían mucho dinero así que irían en bus.

Durante su estadía en Lima se habían distanciado, nos confesó Bernardita: el amor se había ido pero seguían siendo compañeros de viaje. Un día empacaron sus cosas y se despidieron. Nos comunicaríamos por correo electrónico. ¡Los íbamos a extrañar!

Beija Flor sucedía en un pequeño pueblo de Brasil llamado Alto Paradiso. Llegaron una mañana. Mientras caminaban por la calle principal  Bernardita lo vio. Era un veterinario cuarentón viudo. A ella le gustó él y a él le gustó ella. Fue amor a primera vista.
Pronto ella salió del alojamiento y se fue sola a caminar por allí. El se le acercó sonriendo. Pronto estaban conversando y tomando cerveza. El le contó que tenía una pequeña granja en las afueras del pueblo. Vivía solo. Sus dos hijos adultos estaban en la Universidad de Sao Paulo. A Bernardita le encantaban los niños. Tenía ya treinta y ocho años  y moría por tener hijos propios. A Paulo le gustaban los niños. Tenía un lugar propio donde podrían crecer. Bernardita también  poseía una pequeña granja en las afueras de Santiago. Después de unos días ella dejó al Comandante Escoba  y se mudó con Paulo, su nuevo amor.

Mano lo tomó bien y le deseó suerte. Cuando Beija Flor terminó se fue al sur, a Florianópolis. Allí vivió por muchos años.

Bernardita tuvo dos hijos, un niño y una niña, y vivieron felices con Paulo en Brasil. Algunas veces regresa a Chile a ver a su abuela y a su padre.


Mano Eléctrica Azul ó El Comandante Escoba vive ahora en una granja en las afueras de Medellín, en El Carmen del Viboral. Tiene un caballo que monta y él toca la flauta. El es un chamán  y aconseja a la gente con la ayuda de su Escoba del No Ego.
